This is a remarkable document, one-of-a-kind, a complete inventory of the five year old Atlanta Fox Theatre upon the occasion of its purchase in 1935 by Mosque, Inc.-- a holding company owned jointly by Paramount Pictures and the Georgia-based motion picture exhibition chain Lucas & Jenkins. The man in charge of the inventory, E.E. Whitaker, remained an employee of the Lucas interests (later known as Georgia Theatre Company) until Mosque, Inc. sold the theatre to Atlanta Landmarks in 1978.
Every radiator, lighting fixture, stretch of carpet, stage and mechanical device, and each scrap of furniture is counted and described.
