WHO OPENED THE FOX IN 1975?

My friend and fellow Fox volunteer for those days asks that question.  Garry Motter who worked for Charles Walker took on many voluntary tasks, not limited to taking home the glass gel frames from the CYC FOOTS and running them through his dishwasher.

In his email, he recalls the Moscow State Symphony as the opener, not Linda Rondstadt.

So I replied,

I remember a similar occurrence up at QTIP in NYC where our press agent was touting our GRAND and dignified OFFICIAL opening, but due to my booking diligence, our first show was actually, HELLO MUDDAH HELLO FADDAH the local dramatization of Allen Sherman, undignified but funny as hell.

Thus it was at the Fox.  In his dual role as head of the Atlanta Music Club, MOSCOW was to be Ted Steven's premiere, but kindly rock promoter Alex Cooley intervened with money in hand.

Linda Ronstadt will be remembered for vomiting all over the borrowed carpeting in the new "star room."

Moscow State will be recalled because of the picket lines.
